Buddha Head at Wat Phra Mahatat, Nakhon Si Thammarat

It is difficult to choose favorite images. There is a wonderful variety of images, not always noticed at first — something for everyone. Many of the statues, like those at the temple in Chaiya, have been painted gold and black as part of ongoing restoration. As you can see, from the patina and the speckled black hair in this image, restored images do not remain pristine for very long.
